Slow down and sharpen your eye through the timeless practice of painting in watercolor. In this relaxed studio class, students will work from thoughtfully arranged objects to explore composition, light, color, and form. Instruction will focus on translating observation into expressive, layered watercolor paintings while developing techniques such as dry-brush, wet-on-wet, and controlled detail work. Students may follow structured guidance or pursue independent studies with individualized feedback. This workshop introduces photography as a mindful, reflective practice. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, participants are guided to slow down, observe deeply, and create images rooted in presence and personal meaning. Through simple exercises and prompts, you’ll explore light, texture, and emotion while reconnecting with the joy of seeing. Based on the Look Again methodology in which Melissa is certified. Students will leave with printed photos.

Lino-Cut Tea Towel Printing

In this workshop we explore the meditative rhythm of lino-cut block printing. Participants will carve a simple, repeatable design into soft linoleum and hand-print it onto cotton tea towels. The carving process is slow and satisfying, and the printing reveal is always a little magical. Designs can be bold and graphic or delicate and minimal. You’ll leave with a set of hand-printed kitchen textiles and the skills to keep printing at home.

Students can expect to complete approximately 2–3 bracelets during the session. Perfect for jewelry makers of all levels — no prior experience necessary.
