Emma’s Art Studio Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Emma’s Art Studio, we plan our classes and workshops with care, reserving space, materials, and staff based on enrollment. Because of this, we ask that families review our cancellation policies below before registering.

Cancellations Due to Low Enrollment

If a class or workshop does not meet its minimum enrollment, Emma’s Art Studio reserves the right to cancel it.

  • After-school classes: Families will be notified at least one week before the scheduled start date.
  • One-day workshops, day-off camps, and special events: Families will be notified at least three days in advance if a session is cancelled.
  • In the event of a cancellation due to low enrollment, all registrants will receive a full refund or may choose to transfer their credit to another class.

Participant Cancellations

If you need to withdraw from a class, please notify us in writing at least one week before the first session to receive a refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made less than one week prior to the start date are non-refundable but may be eligible for a credit toward a future class at the studio’s discretion.

Makeups & Missed Classes

We’re unable to provide individual make-up sessions or prorated refunds for missed classes, but we will make every effort to offer a comparable alternative when possible.

Birthday Party Cancellation Policy

Birthday party bookings require a $100 deposit to reserve your date. If you cancel more than 30 days before your scheduled party, your deposit — minus any processing fees — will be refunded.

Cancellations made within 30 days of the event are non-refundable, as staffing, materials, and scheduling have already been confirmed. Your $100 deposit will not be returned.

If you need to reschedule, we’re happy to apply your payment toward a new date within three months, subject to studio availability.

Snow & Inclement Weather Policy

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our top priority. In the event of snow, ice, or severe weather, we follow Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and local government guidance whenever possible.

❄️ When We Cancel Classes

Classes and camps will be cancelled if:

  • Montgomery County Public Schools are closed due to weather
  • Montgomery County issues a snow emergency
  • Road conditions are unsafe for travel to the studio

We may also cancel independently if conditions deteriorate later in the day.

📣 How You’ll Be Notified

Families will be notified by:

  • Email or text through CourseStorm
  • Instagram Stories (when applicable)

Notifications are typically sent by 6:00 AM for morning classes, and 12:00 PM for afternoon classes.

🎨 Make-Up Classes & Credits

  • If Emma’s Art Studio cancels a class, families will receive:
    • A make-up class or
    • A studio credit for future classes
  • No refunds are issued for weather cancellations, but your tuition is always honored.

🚗 Family Choice

If we remain open but your family does not feel safe traveling, we completely understand.

  • Please email us — we will offer a make-up class when possible.

Camps

❄️ Camp Weather Policy

  • If camp is cancelled due to weather, families will receive a full credit toward a future camp.
  • Partial day cancellations (early dismissal) will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
